I wanted to do a more refined picture of Lucy, to flesh out the character in my mind. i took a basic body sketch i had laying around i never finished and made this. (then when i decided the do this whole posting of the process i covered her boobs.)
I wanted her to have a kind of off putting feel. so i kept the arm nub at the shoulder. Also i didn't use smooth round features or curves. she's almost anerexic in my mind. Hell, she's out running around and not eating much. i decided early on that i didn't want her arm to have any kind of weapon functions. wheres the fun in that!? but i liked the weird chunky aspect because it makes me feel like i could add anything onto it that i wanted. as you will see later.
i decided. "yeah, i like it." she could always change clothes or a haircut later if i want. and hell, a new arm would be something cool to add in the comic. maybe it will be a recurring thing. Print.
it reminds me of vash the stampede, like a female version.... just the pants style and the missing arms.

It's always cool to see the process that other artists use when putting an image together.
